RECENT ORDERS

It has been a busy first quarter for Skinner with record equipment bookings.  These include numerous turbines for pump drives as well as turbine generator packages.
1000KW Turbine Generator Set destined for installation in Vietnam was booked in January 2008.  The order was sold by our sales representative in Vietnam, Cat Vu Co. Ltd., working with our partner in India, BioGreen Energy Systems, who will package the turbine, generator and gear and do the installation.  Congratulations to Cat Vu and BioGreen!
In February Skinner booked an order for a 190KW Turbine Generator Set for a municipal incinerator plant in South Korea.  The order was sold by our distributor there Woojin Technologies.  Congratulations to Woojin Technologies!  Also, booked in February was a small 90KW Turbine Generator Set for a food processor in California.  This is the third package they have ordered. 

VISIT SKINNER AT 2008 TRADE SHOWS

Skinner will be in Calgary, Alberta, Canada again this year, June 10 to 12, at the Global Petroleum Show in the Pennsylvania Pavillion in the Round Up Building.  Then in September we will be at the Texas A&M Turbomachinery Show in Houston, Texas.  We look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones.

IS COGENERATION AN OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU?

Skinner has recently  worked with its local natural gas supplier to explain to their larger industrial customers with boilers how they can offset their rising utility bills with cogeneration.  Simply put, industrial customers with an existing steam plant can install our turbine generator sets at relatively low cost  and generate a portion of their electric needs themselves; hence, avoiding buying it from the electric utility.  Industrial concerns with a steam plants that have pressure reducing valves are ideal candidates for small turbine generator sets since the TG set functions similar to the pressure reducing valve only the energy is not wasted.  Rather, it is used to generate electricity.
